UofL has named Mindy L. Eaves as its next Ombuds. Eaves had been the Ombudsman for the Jefferson County Public Schools, Kentucky's largest school system, since establishing the program in 2012. She takes over from Robert Staat, who was the interim Ombuds following the departure of Tony Belak.
Eaves brings an extensive record in higher education experience and Ombuds work. She has been a faculty member in social work at Western Kentucky University, Spaulding University, and Simmons College. She is an active volunteer with IOA and currently serves as co-chair of the Membership Committee. Eaves graduated from University of Louisville and earned her MSW at Spalding University. She is completing a doctorate in social work at the University of St. Thomas. She is also a certified mediator and training in leadership facilitation. (UofL Ombuds; LinkedIn.)

It was shocking that she wasn't elected to the IOA Board.
