Job Posting: African Union Commission

The administrative branch of the AU is hiring its first Ombudsman and Mediation Division Head. Based at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the position manages a department that provides a range of conflict management and employee relations functions. Duties include providing "services that are impartial, objective, neutral, independent, and fully confidential." The appointment is contracted for three years, including an initial one year period. 

Applicants must have a Master’s degree; twelve years of relevant work experience, including seven at a managerial level and five in a supervisory role; and proven experience in policy formulation. The position pays (U.S.) $50,746 per year plus a post adjustment (46% of basic salary), housing allowance $26,208, and education allowance (100% of tuition and other education-related expenses for every eligible dependent up to a maximum of $10,000 per child for internationally recruited staff and up to $3,300 per child for locally recruited staff).
