ABA's 2022 Dispute Resolution Spring Conference Includes Two Ombuds Panels

The American Bar Association's Section on Dispute Resolution will hold its Virtual Joint Annual Spring Conference on April 25-29, 2022. This is the largest annual conference of ADR practitioners and the theme this year is “Where Do We Grow from Here? New Directions and Rejuvenation.” There will be just two sessions featuring Ombuds (programmed at exactly the same time):

  • (D30) Growing into and in an Ombuds Role: Professionalizing, Rejuvenating, Renewing the Ombuds Profession Through Online Education, Tuesday, April 26, 3:30-4:30 pm ET [Live Webinar]
    The pandemic has propelled Ombuds education into a diverse new virtual array of educational options for all Ombuds types. The panel will compare, contrast, and evaluate both the traditional and emergent online modalities for Ombuds education. The panel will then facilitate an interactive session to identify the most desirable trajectory for future Ombuds professional education.

  • (D19) The Future of Ombuds: Ombuds in Emerging Venues, Tuesday, April 26, 3:30-4:30 pm ET [Live Moderated Webinar]
    While many may not understand what an Ombuds does, many organizations are realizing the value and are willing to commit the capital to create an ombuds program. Community colleges, K12 school districts, and conferences are just some of the new venues that are adding ombuds to their resources. Join our panel of practicing Ombudsmen as they share their experiences in these emerging ombuds venues.
