Recently, the two board members of the Czech School Ombuds Platform (ŠOP), Jaroslav Šotola and Michaela Antonín-Malaniková, both Ombuds at Palacký University in Olomouc, Czech Republic, met with Josef Leidenfrost, the immediate past president and former coordinator of the Austrian Ombuds Network. (Antonín-Malaniková and Leidenfrost also both serve on the ENOHE Board and ENOHE International Relations Committee.) The bilateral talks focused on current developments in their respective countries and across Europe.

Key topics included the upcoming ENOHE conference in Portugal, international networking opportunities, a special conference roundtable discussion titled “The Ombuds Profession and Its Grand Design: Voices from our Partners,” and a research-based session on the implementation of ombuds offices within the European Higher Education Area. Šotola and ;Michaela Antonín-Malaniková contributed to the first edition of the ENOHE Yearbook 2024 with an article on “The Difficulties and Opportunities of Ombuds in No Man’s Land.” ;

This committee aims to strengthen inter-state relations among ENOHE members and associations to support the implementation of decisions from the European Higher Education Ministers' Rome Communique of 2020, which advocates for the expansion of Ombuds offices throughout the EHEA. The Czech network, in collaboration with the Polish National Ombuds Network, will work on joint projects, publications (articles and research), and study visits to further promote the establishment of university ombuds offices in Central European countries and support the creation of similar networks.
