As part of an overall effort to update institutional integrity policies, the secular, private university in Lebanon has taken steps to create an Ombuds program first promised last year. According to UAB Provost, Ahmad Dallal, the Harassment and Discrimination Policy Committee has created a document to charter a new office:
Committee members also developed terms of reference and other documentation relevant to the establishment of an Ombuds Office at the University. The Ombuds will serve as an independent, informal, neutral, and confidential resource to explore solutions to ethics concerns as they develop.
No other details have been released. (UAB Institutional Integrity.)
