University of California San Francisco Appoints First Ombuds

UCSF, the University of California campus dedicated solely to graduate education, in health and biomedical sciences, has appointed Randy Daron as its first-ever Ombudsperson. According to an email announcement from UCSF Vice Provost Sally J. Marshall, Daron will serve the entire campus including faculty, staff and students at all sites including the UCSF Medical Center.

Previously, Daron was the Acting Director of the UCSF Work~Life Resource Center, a unit designed to promote a productive work climate, collaboration and supportive work and learning environments, through the development and implementation of initiatives and services for individuals, teams and departments. He graduated from the University of Oregon and earned his MA from the San Francisco School of Psychology and PsyD from the Professional School of Psychology. He has already completed IOA training. Daron will report to the Vice Provost Randy and his first task will be converting the Work~Life Resource Center into an Ombuds Office by July.
