Interview With Hamline University Ombuds

Molly McAvoy has served as the Ombudsman at the private university in Saint Paul, MN since 1998. “This position really makes a difference for people,” she said. “People leave here feeling like they can address their issues, which is rewarding for me as well.” McAvoy, who reports to the University President, started in a part-time capacity and became full-time in 2005. In addition to an undergraduate degree in psychology and a master’s degree in public administration, she also earned a certificate in dispute resolution from the Hamline University School of Law.
