The private, Ivy League, research university in New York City has opened a search for an Associate University Ombuds Officer. The position works with the University Ombuds, Joan C. Waters, to provide services to nearly 60,000 faculty, staff and students.

Applicants should have an advanced degree and at least eight years of relevant experience (experience in conflict resolution and mediation strongly preferred). Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals.
