Tarion Warranty Corp., the regulator of Ontario’s new home building industry, announced that Ian Darling will serve as its first Ombuds. Darling reports directly to the CEO and his office serves as an impartial and independent resource for those with concerns about procedural irregularities or Tarion policies. For the past eight year, Darling was the Ombuds at Fanshawe College. He also is the vice-president of the Forum of Canadian Ombudsman.
