The
International Ombudsman Association is offering financial
support for members or prospective members living outside the U.S. or Canada to attend its 8th Annual Conference on April 21-24, 2013,
in Miami, Florida. The scholarship supports IOA’s goal
to increase access for practitioners and others
in under-served and under-represented regions.
The scholarship is specifically aimed at all members or potential
members who work outside the United States and Canada, practice as
Organizational Ombuds, and can provide evidence of financial need (i.e.,
would otherwise not be able to attend the conference). Priority will be given to applicants whose participation
may be instrumental in the advancement of the Organizational Ombuds
profession. Candidates may
self-apply or be nominated by another member. Participation of recipients as a
presenter or a panel member during the conference is desirable but not a
pre-requisite.
Depending on the number of recipients, full or partial funding toward
travel will be awarded to successful applicants(s).
A completed application form is due by November 1, 2012. Applications
will be reviewed by the International Committee Scholarship Coordinators and their recommendations
submitted to the International Committee for endorsement. The
International Committee will make final award decisions, including amount(s)
and the form of payment offered. (2013 IOA Conf. Scholarship; Conf. Info.)
