UMass Dartmouth to Host University of Colorado Ombuds for National Conflict Resolution Day

On October 18, 2012, the Office of the Ombudsperson at UMass Dartmouth will celebrates National Conflict Resolution Day, with a discussion lead by Tom Sebok, University Ombudsperson, University of Colorado at Boulder on "Starting a Restorative Justice Program on Campus."

This is the second year that William King, the Ombudsperson, has brought a guest speaker to UMass Dartmouth for Conflict Resolution Day. (UMass Dartmouth Calendar.)

Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals.
