The leading cancer research and treatment center in Houston is hiring an Ombudsperson. The position will join an office that serves all members of the MD Anderson workforce, including faculty, trainees and fellows of the institution.

Applicants must have a Master's degree in Conflict Management or related field and relevant training in dispute resolution and mediation and as an Ombuds (two years of experience as an Organizational Ombuds and PhD or JD preferred). No salary or deadline indicated. (LinkedIn.)

Organizational Ombuds

Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals. The term "Ombuds" is shorthand for "Ombudsman," "Ombudsperson" and "Ombuds Officer," which also are used widely.
