Job Posting: Weatherford

The international oil and natural gas service company has opened a search for its first Ombudsperson. The position will establish and run a dispute resolution program for 30,000 employees from the company's Houston, Texas operational headquarters. In addition to Ombuds work, the position also, "Facilitates the administration of mediations and arbitrations with third-party providers."

Applicants must have ten years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree. Experience working with multinational organizations, Workplace Conflict Management Certification, and Certified Organizational Ombudsman Practitioner (CO-OP) certification are preferred. I don't think the job is closed. I just checked the company website which shows the posting as updated on 9/20/16 and still active.

Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals. The term "Ombuds" is shorthand for "Ombudsman," "Ombudsperson" and "Ombuds Officer," which also are used widely.
