Another New Ombuds Podcast: Spoken in Confidence

Sana Manjeshwar, who served as the Ombuds at Chevron and AllianceBernstein and now consults as the principal of OmbudSana International, has launched her own podcast: "Spoken in Confidence." Manjeshwar plans a series of monthly interviews with leaders "who chose to handle conflict differently, sharing real-world scenarios, hard conversations, and practical tools. The Oakland-based startup that provides external Ombuds services through a technology-enabled platform, is hiring a part-time contract Organizational Ombuds. The fully remote position will provide assistance to employees of client organizations, offering conflict coaching and consultation while identifying systemic workplace issues and trends. Off-hours work is permitted. 

JAMS Pathways Adds Ombuds Services

JAMS Pathways, a division of the large ADR provider JAMS that launched in 2023, has added Ombuds services to its portfolio. JAMS Pathways now offers outsourced Ombuds services alongside workplace assessments, conflict coaching, mediation, facilitation, and training. According to the company, its Ombuds provide confidential, independent, impartial, and informal assistance to employees and other stakeholders while helping organizations identify systemic issues and emerging trends. JAMS does not explicitly reference IOA standards in its materials.

Job Posting: Synchrony Financial

Synchrony, the large consumer financial services company is seeking its next Vice President of Ombuds and Ethics. The search will fill a position held by JoAnne Harvey since March 2025. The role combines Ombuds functions with broader ethics, compliance, and conduct risk responsibilities within a corporate governance structure. The role sits within the Risk & Compliance function and is responsible for leading the organization’s Ombuds and Ethics program, including oversight of conflict of interest processes, conduct risk governance, and related ethics reporting and controls. The role is based at the company’s corporate headquarters in Stamford, CT, with hybrid work flexibility.

Sana Manjeshwar is the latest guest on a podcast by composer and pianist Leonardo Le San, "Modus Operandi." Manjeshwar talked about building and leading Ombuds programs for global organizations across six continents, drawing on her background in organizational psychology, employment litigation, human resources, coaching, mediation, and Ombuds practice. Manjeshwar is also a singer and the episode features one her first songs.

SAP Adds an Ombuds for India and Asia-Pacific

SAP has appointed Ranju Gupta as its first Ombudsperson for India and the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, based in Bengaluru. The appointment expands the reach of the SAP Global Ombuds Office, which is headed by Carsten Pöschl and also includes Danillo Alves for SAP Americas and Agnes Eising for EMEA. 

Chevron's Ombuds Goes Independent

Sana Manjeshwar, Chevron's Global Principal Ombuds Manager, has left the company and formed her own Ombuds consulting firm. She was with Chevron's Ombuds program for a dozen years, with six years as the leader. Prior to that, Manjeshwar was the Ombuds for AllianceBernstein. CEO Explains Why He Created an Ombuds Program

The CEO of Cambridge Innovation Center, an American real estate services company, explains why he established an Ombuds office in a video shared by MWI. CIC, an American real estate services company, was founded by Tim Rowe, the son of Mary Rowe, MIT's first Ombuds. Podcast: Ombuds for Dental Services

Dina Eisenberg was a recent guest on The Raving Patients Podcast. The focus of the podcast is dental practice management and Eisenberg was able to share her expertise working with dentists and dental service organizations. Eisenberg has been working as an Ombuds for decades, serving a wide range of businesses including large corporations, health systems, colleges, and small companies, so she has more than enough wisdom for a half hour show. IOA Videos Feature Endorsements by Corporate Leaders

The International Ombuds Association has shared three videos that debuted at its annual conference in April 2025. These short videos feature CEOs and other C-suite leaders of three different organizations: Boston Children's Hospital; AllianceBernstein; and Pinterest. Hollywood Commission's Ombuds Program Now Available to Entire Motion Picture Industry

For the past year, MyConnext, has provided Ombuds services to a limited group of union members and production companies around Los Angeles with Lillian Rivera as the inaugural Ombuds. Today, the program is available to anyone in the motion picture industry, regardless of union status, from production assistants to producers. To manage the workload, Rivera is being joined by a consulting Ombuds, Hector Escalante Meza. (H'wood Reporter.)

Exergen Corp Announces First Ombuds

The Massachusetts-based manufacturer of infrared measuring tools has announced the appointment of Bob Harris to the newly created role of International Ombudsman. According to an Exergen press release, Harris "will focus on identifying and resolving issues and challenges related to our products, field operations, and questions surrounding regulatory matters." It is not clear whether Harris will work with customer complaints or internal issues, and there is no externally available information at this time. 

ABA Panel Aims to Inform Corporate Counsel About Ombuds

On May 14, 2025, the American Bar Association, Dispute Resolution Section will offer a webinar on "The Organizational Ombuds – Why Your Company Needs One and What Counsel Should Know." The panel will feature Sana Manjeshwar, Global leader of Chevron´s Office of Ombuds, Steven Prevaux, Faculty Staff Ombuds at the University of South Florida, Mark C. Fava, Vice President and Ombudsman for The Boeing Company, and Chuck Doran, Executive Director of MWI.

Pinterest Adds an Ombuds

Awab Al-Rawe became the newest Ombuds at Pinterest in August 2024. He reports to Donna Douglass Williams, CO-OP, Head of Ombuds, and joins Teresa Ralicki, Ombuds Analyst, and Shawday Berstler, Senior Ombuds Specialist. (Berstler was promoted from Ombuds Program Manager in June 2023.)
