Lacy Ward Jr. has been hired as the first Marshall University Ombudsman. In the new full-time position, Ward will also serve as the Civic Engagement Coordinator. Ward will assist only university employees with questions or concerns with the university’s policies and procedures. The joint appointments will run for an initial one-year period.
Ward brings over three decades of experience in non-profit, higher education, government, and military leadership experience to the job. Most recently, he served as Executive Director of The John Marshall Foundation in Richmond, Virginia. He has also been a consultant to Marshall on several ad hoc projects. Ward graduated from from Virginia State University and a Master of Public Administration at Virginia Tech. (WAM Newsletter; LinkedIn.)
