Earlier this month, Dolores Gómez-Morán, CO-OP, joined the United Nations World Food Program as Senior Ombuds Officer and Mediator in the Office of the Ombudsman and Mediation Services. She joins a team of ten led by WFP Ombuds, Gabrielle Kluck, and will be based in Rome.
Gómez-Morán comes to the position with eight years of international Ombuds and mediation experience at the World Health Organization. She was the the Ombudsman for the Pan American Health Organization based in Washington, DC, and later as the first Regional Ombudsman of the South-East Asia Region where she was posted in New Delhi, India. Previously, she was the first Ombudsman for George Mason University for 13 years. In addition to her professional activities, Gómez-Morán has been an active member of IOA sitting on several committees and task forces in different capacities, including the International Outreach Committee and the IOA Mentoring Committee. She also sits on the Appeals Committee of the Board of Certification for Certified Organizational Ombudsman Practitioner.
