Monique McKay has been selected as the first Student and Faculty Ombudsperson for the private research university in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She will report to the Provost and is expected to work closely with CMU's Staff Ombudsperson, Jennifer Pablonis.
McKay brings significant Ombuds and higher education experience to the new role. Most recently, she was the Director of Equity, Diversity and Human Rights at Vancouver Island University for the past two years. She has also served as the Ombuds at Florida Gulf Coast University and the Graduate School Ombudsperson at Virginia Tech. McKay graduated from the University of Western Ontario and earned a MDR from the Straus Institute at Pepperdine University. (CMU Communications; LinkedIn.)
