University of Texas at Dallas Unveils Students Ombuds Program

The fast-growing campus of the University of Texas System has named Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Diego Garcia Theodore as its first Student Ombuds. Practicing to IOA standards, Theodore serves a student population of about 30,000. He moves into the position after a short stint as senior director of the International Center at UT Dallas.


Garcia Theodore grew earned a BA and and two master’s degrees at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and then a PhD in education administration at Texas A&M University. At Texas A&M, Garcia Theodore was assistant director of the Office for Latin American Programs and director of the L.T. Jordan Institute for International Awareness. He later served as director of the Office of Global Education/Study Abroad at the University of Colorado at Denver. (UT Denver Ombuds, News.)
