Externship: Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation

The FDIC's Office of the Internal Ombuds is seeking two Student Trainees. The paid, part-time positions will provide "administrative support in the areas of addressing workplace-related concerns and employee engagement/workplace improvement initiatives." The positions require at least 24-hours per week during the full academic year and full time during summer/holiday breaks, and are based in Washington, DC. Interns are eligible for hire after successful completion of the program requirements, including at least 480 hours of work experience.

The positions are open only to U.S. citizen who are enrolled in a qualifying program with an anticipated graduation date after January 31, 2026. The CG-07 jobs pays $61,586 and applications are due by November 6, 2024. (USA Jobs.)

  1. This great news! Even better because it's paid with the possibility of ongoing employment afterwards. We've got to figure out how to create more opportunities for new-to-this field of work.

  2. These student trainee positions have a higher pay grade than the regular ombuds position recently posted at Cincinnati.

  3. Add 40% to the Cincinnati position and it is still not salary competitive with this INTERN position.
