The public university in Lexington has appointed law professor Michael P. Healy, to the role of Academic Ombud for 2014-2015. The Office of Academic Ombud Services at UK assisting 40,000 students and instructional staff with academic problems and conflicts. Healy's term began August 1, 2014.
Healy came to UK's law school in 1990. Before that he was an attorney with the Appellate Section of the Environment and Natural Resources Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. He graduated from Williams College and earned his JD from the University of Pennsylvania. He is the coauthor of a casebook on Administrative Law and has published law review articles in the areas of administrative law, environmental law, international environmental law, and statutory interpretation.
