The regional, multi-campus university is hiring a full-time Ombudsman to serve nearly
2,000 faculty and staff. The search apparently will fill a position that was created earlier this year and filled in September on a part-time basis by Michael Stapleton, the former Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police for the University.
Applicants should have a master's degree, and five years of experience in higher education, with three years as an
organizational ombudsman or related experience in mediation,
counseling or employment law. A doctorate is preferred, as well as completion of IOA's Foundations course or mediation training from Consortium on Negotiation and Conflict Resolution.
CO-OP certification or pursuit of certification within one year are also required. (Higher Ed Jobs.)
