According to the posting, the USDA Ombuds will:
• Focus on and develop strategic initiatives designed to address program civil rights issues affecting members of the public served by all USDA mission areas and agencies;The GS-14 position pays $123,758.00 to $155,500.00 / Per Year and applications are due December 23, 2013. (USA Jobs.)
• Analyze USDA program application and utilization data (including grazing permitting data, loan data, borrower data, conservation program data application processing data, and similar information) as well as program civil rights complaints and resolution data and provide recommendations to Department officials concerning improvements to USDA programs designed to ensure equal access to all;
• Work to identify barriers that prevent or reduce the ability of members socially disadvantaged groups to participate in USDA programs and recommend ways said barriers can be eliminated; and
• Promote the use of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and similar techniques to address program civil rights complaints.
