In July, Robert Staat was appointed the University Ombuds at Louisville, succeeding Tony Belak. The appointment appears to be short-term, as the Faculty Senate is conducting a search for a new Ombuds.
Staat has been a member of the faculty for four decades and is Professor of Microbiology. He was recently appointed to the Kentucky Council for Postsecondary Education, representing Kentucky's public university faculty.
