The public university in Ottawa, Ontario has opened a search for its next University Ombudsperson. The position is, "Responsible for conducting investigations and making recommendations to resolve complaints, from any university community member, exclusive on union employment and labour relations." These duties are not unusual for Ombuds in Canada.* The Carleton Ombuds reports to a Committee comprised of members of the campus community.
Applicants must have: a bachelor’s degree in a related field (Master’s degree preferred); training in mediation, dispute resolution or negotiations; and at least seven years of previous progressive Ombuds experience. No salary indicated. Applications are due by October 4, 2019. (Carleton Jobs.)
