IOA Signs on as ACR 2019 Conference Sponsor

The International Ombudsman Association is a sponsor of the Association for Conflict Resolution's annual conference currently underway in Tucson, Arizona (September 18-21, 2019). IOA joins Mediate.com and National Association for Community Mediation as "Organizational Sponsors."

According to the ACR conference website, general conference sponsorship packages start at $1,500 and include: an exhibit hall table, conference registration; and program acknowledgment. ACR has an Ombuds Section and Ombuds are frequent presenters and attendees. This year, researchers from Nova Southeastern University in Florida will present the only session about Ombuds. Organizational Ombuds

Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals. The term "Ombuds" is shorthand for "Ombudsman," "Ombudsperson" and "Ombuds Officer," which also are used widely.
