On Friday, September 13th the Colorado Ombuds Group gathered for an all-day retreat hosted by the CU Denver|Anschutz Ombuds Office team (Melissa Connell, Lisa Neale, and Teresa Ralicki). Participants received "Om-mugs."Ombuds in attendance included: Liz Hill (CU Boulder), Yem Fong (CU Boulder), Lee Potts (CU Boulder, retired), Tom Sebok (CU Boulder, retired), Jenna Brown (University of Denver), Paul Kuerbis (Colorado College), Barbara Beatty (Metropolitan State University of Denver), Mary Chavez Rudolph (U.S. Department of the Interior), Lourdes Delgado (Pfizer) and Zach Ulrich (Colorado Student Loan Ombudsperson). This group has been meeting since the early 90's and continues to offer a space for reflection, collaboration and support. Amongst other things, the group worked to assist with a complicated case and learned more about proactive ombudsing. The next gathering is scheduled for late January/ early February and will be hosted by Jenna Brown.
