Thomas Scott: Former Cornell University Ombuds

Thomas W. Scott, an Emeritus Professor of Agronomy and former University Ombudsman, passed away on August 22, 2019 at the age of 89. At Cornell, Scott served as University Ombuds from 1992 to 1994, and he retired from the faculty in 1995. Ralph Obendorf, a fellow professor recalled a constant stream of students coming to see Scott. “He fought hard for the underdogs,” Obendorf said. “The typical aggie student that was going back to the farm, he could relate to them.
