  1. Another one year job posting? (insert eyes rolled to the heavens)

  2. A contract is intended to meet a specific need for a specific period of time. And the opportunity to work with some of the most reputable Ombuds in the field? And be paid a decent salary? That would be an amazing opportunity.

  3. The "opportunity to work with some of the most reputable Ombuds in the field" is the employment equivalent of artists being asked to work for free for the "exposure."

    2. Thank you, and I agree (which is why I posted my original comment). I don't know many people who could job search and willingly take a job that was only for a year. Unless they are going through some pretty tough times/just out of school/etc. And there's a big assumption about the pay since it says "no salary indicated" so we just have to hope it's decent. But that's a lot of work applying and interviewing for a job where it's one year and you don't know the salary.

    3. I'd be fine with it if people started publishing salary ranges. If you're asking people to work on contract, the least you can do is be upfront about what you're going to pay them. (It's also a huge equity issue not specific to ombuds work. I wish we were more quickly moving to salary transparency across the board in the US.)
