California State Monterey Bay Appoints Inaugural Ombuds

Johnny Armijo II has been named the first Ombudsperson for the public university in Central California. He comes from the University of Northern Colorado, where he established an Ombuds Office just last year. In his new role at CSUMB, he will serve faculty, staff, and students at the mid-size university, one of the newest in the Cal State system.

Before Northern Colorado, Armijo was a language and literature teacher with Dallas Independent School District for eight years. He earned his Bachelor's and a Masters in Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management from Southern Methodist University. Armijo also served in the US Air Force Reserve as a first sergeant.
