University of Illinois College of Engineering Selects Next Ombuds

In September 2023, Douglas H. Beck was named the Ombudsperson for the Grainger College of Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. He is the only Ombuds at the Big 10 university and succeeds Michael Hirschi, who served in the role for two years.

Beck joined the faculty at Grainger in 1989 and is a fill professor of physics. He from the University of Saskatchewan and earned PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. (UIUC Grainger Ombuds.)
