The public university in Glassboro, NJ has appointed Catherine Parrish as the first Ombudsman for its 1,600 faculty. “The university ombudsman position was created a year ago as the first of several initiatives geared to providing a quality workplace,” Executive Vice President Dr. Tobey Oxholm, said.
Parrish has been faculty member in the English Department at Rowan since 1992 and has held other administrative roles including Chair of the Chairs’ Council. she graduated from Chatham College and earned a MA and PhD from the University of Virginia.
Although Parrish's focus will be on faculty issues, she said that she would try to listen and offer suggestions to any students who came to her office. (The Whit; Faculty Bio.)
