The food assistance branch of the United Nations is hiring an Ombudsman. The position, based in Rome, works with WFP employees world-wide and coordinates closely with the UN Ombudsman and Mediation Services office. The job is based in Rome and is for a four-year term.
Applicants must have a relevant university degree; 13 years of progressively responsible professional experience; operational and field experience in contexts similar to those in which WFP works; and fluency in English with an working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish) or Portuguese. Training in informal conflict resolution or related areas and experience in dispute/conflict resolution in an international and multicultural
environment are highly desirable. Application are due by April 13, 2015.
