The Minnesota school district with over 36,000 students is hiring an Ombudsperson. The full-time position reports to the MPS Chief of Staff and works with parents, students, community members and employees.
According to the job description, the Ombuds, "investigates complaints lodged against MPS...; acts as an intermediary between MPS and its constituents; develops recommendations for resolution of issues, reports on the findings, and assists in achieving equitable solutions." Mary Jo Reiter held the position for the past 11 years.
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and three years of community relations experience in public education; OR an equivalent combination of education, training and
