Communications skills and strategies for the organizational ombudsperson

Course Content
This practical and interactive course will assist organizational ombuds to learn and demonstrate best practices involving the language and approaches used to most effectively communicate with the varied constituencies in contact with an ombuds office. These constituencies include: office visitors, third parties to conflict, and stakeholders whose support relies on understanding the ombuds office success and challenges. This course will address both oral and written communication and will help participants to create, expand, and/or refine a variety of communication strategies critical to the efficacy and success of an ombuds office.
Intended Audience
Participants will be required to complete Foundations of Organizational Ombudsman Practice as a prerequisite to participating in this course. Participants may have a limited understanding of conflict.
