The Latin American development bank has appointed Harbey Peña Sandoval as its Associate Ombudsperson. Sandoval will be based in Washington, DC and report to IDB Ombuds, Marta I. Abello, for an intial two-year appointment.
Sandoval has worked in and taught dispute resolution for about 15 years, primarily in Bogotá DC, Colombia. He has been a faculty member at Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Universidad Santo Tomás, Escuela Superior de Guerra, and Universidad Católica de Colombia. He has been an ADR consultant for the Colombia National Planning Department, Bogotá Chamber of Commerce, World Bank, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit, and Pan American Health Organization. Sandoval graduated from Universidad Nacional de Colombia and earned a Master of Dispute Resolution from George Mason University. (LinkedIn.)
