Job Posting: Bowie State University

The public university in Maryland is seeking its first Ombudsperson. The position will develop and implement an Ombuds program for faculty, staff, and students utilizing the University System of Maryland's Guidelines for Ombudsperson. The position reports to the University President.
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree strongly preferred) and at least five years of experience as a mediator or dealing with conflict resolution required (higher education experience preferred). The part-time (32 hours/week) position will pay $60,000 and applications are due November 9, 2018. (Bowie State Posting.)

Note: In May 2018, it the University System of Maryland (of which Bowie State is part) said that its Ombuds programs could not be confidential for Title IX or Clery matters. Subsequently, it was reported by several USM Ombuds that this restriction was not implemented.
