Wake Technical Community College's Ombuds, Jerry Nuesell, is heading up a new group for colleagues at other community colleges. While Ombuds Offices exist at hundreds of traditional four-year institutions of higher education and graduate programs, there are significantly fewer programs at community colleges.
Back in March of 2018, Nuesell coordinated the establishment of a community college Ombuds group, which has been meeting by phone on a bi-monthly basis since June. Given the somewhat unique needs and challenges associated with serving at a community college, the group is a network of peers who offer support and consultation, and share resources and best practices. Those who would like to learn more about the group can contact Nuesell at gjnuesell@waketech.edu.
