Boeing Ombuds to Address DRI Annual Meeting

Mark Fava, Boeing's inaugural Ombuds, will be a featured speaker at the Defense Research Institute's three-day 2024 Annual Meeting. DRI, sometimes called "The Voice of the Defense Bar," is the largest (and influential) association of attorneys who defend organizations and individuals in civil litigation. Fava will host a fireside chat on Friday, October 18, 2024.

Mark C. Fava, named Boeing's first organizational ombudsperson in June 2022, serves as a confidential and informal resource for employees to raise concerns about safety, quality, and compliance. An ombudsperson can help foster a culture of collaboration and provide strategies for navigating disputes. Join this fireside chat where Mr. Fava will talk about his development of this unique role at Boeing, how to employ some of the same strategies in your own firms and practices, and why your clients might benefit by establishing a similar role in their own organizations.

Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals.
