Call for Proposals: Dispute Resolution 2025 Spring Conference

The American Bar Association's Dispute Resolution Section is now accepting program proposals for its 2025 Spring Conference that will be held April 25-26, 2025, in Chicago. "Reaching New Heights: The Rising Tide of Dispute Resolution," should resonate for Ombuds, given the growing role in the landscape of dispute resolution.

CU Boulder Ombuds Liz Hill, the Chair-Elect of the ABA Dispute Resolution Section, is encouraging other Ombuds my fellow ombuds to submit proposals to "demonstrate the vital impact we have in the field and connect with leaders, mediators, arbitrators, judges, attorney advocates, and more." Organizational Ombuds

Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals. The term "Ombuds" is shorthand for "Ombudsman," "Ombudsperson" and "Ombuds Officer," which also are used widely.
