The USF System--which includes three universities: USF Tampa, USF St. Petersburg, and USF Sarasota-Manatee--has appointed Steven Prevaux as its first Ombuds Officer. Prior to taking the position in January, Prevaux had been USF's General Counsel for over a dozen years.
He is certified by the Florida Bar in education law and is a mediator for the state circuit, civil, and appellate courts. Prevaux graduated from the University of Michigan and earned his JD at the University of North Carolina School of Law. Other Ombuds in the USF System include Jennifer Schneider at USF Tampa, Lauren Kurnov at USF Sarasota-Manatee, and Deni Elliott at USF St. Petersburg. (LinkedIn.)
