IOA Announces Election Results for 2016 Board

The International Ombudsman Association has announced the results of its recent Board of Directors election. The following Ombuds were elected or re-elected to the IOA Board with terms beginning at the annual conference in April 2016:

David Carver, PhD, University of Nebraska Medical Center
Bruce J. MacAllister, International Foundation for Online Responsibility (re-elected)
José Martínez-Aragón, CO-OP^®, World Health Organization (re-elected)

Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals. The term "Ombuds" is shorthand for "Ombudsman," "Ombudsperson" and "Ombuds Officer," which also are used widely.
