Ombuds Training to be Offered in Virginia, October 2016

The International Ombudsman Association will offer several training programs for Organizational Ombuds in Alexandria, Virginia October 17-21, 2016.  The offerings are aimed at aspiring, novice, and experienced Ombuds.


Three-Day Course
October 17-19

Foundations of Organizational Ombudsman Practice 

This course benefits the recently appointed ombudsman, individuals interested in becoming an ombudsman or anyone desiring to establish an ombudsman function in industry, government, higher education, and public or private social services agencies.

Half-Day Courses
October 20

Introduction to Mediation

Faculty: Melissa Brodrick, Ombudsman, Harvard School of Medicine.
Emotional Intelligence
Description forthcoming.

Faculty: Susan Casino, Director of Ombuds Services, Apollo Education Group.


Full-Day Course
October 21

Working with Groups Workshop

Description forthcoming. 
Faculty: Lisa Witzler, PhD, and Tyler Smith, Associate Ombuds, National Institutes of Health.
