University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Selects Ombuds

Yesterday, UNC announced the appointment of Dawn Osborne-Adams as its new University Ombuds and Director of the University Ombuds Office. Osborne-Adams comes to UNC from Shell in Houston, where she was a consultant Ombuds. She joins Laurie Mesibov, Associate University Ombuds, and Victoria Dowd, Assistant University Ombuds and Program Specialist, in serving over 40,000 students, staff, faculty, and administrators.

An announcement from UNC Chancellor Carol Folt touted Osborne-Adams' professional experience including a stint as the Ombuds Binghamton University and director of the ADR program for the U.S. District Court in Los Angeles. Osborne-Adams graduated from Georgetown University and earned her JD at New York University School of Law. She also holds a certificate in dispute resolution from the Straus Institute at Pepperdine University School of Law. She succeeds Wayne Blair, who took a position as ombuds for the Asian Development Bank in early 2018.
