Four Corners Ombuds Retreat Set for October 2018

Ombuds in the U.S. Southwest are invited to a three-day gathering in Santa Fe, New Mexico in late October 2018. Organizers Liz Hill (University of Colorado Boulder) and Jon Lee (University of New Mexico) are shaping up the agenda.

Here are the current details:

Attention Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico and Utah Ombuds! There will be a Four Corners Ombuds Retreat held October 25-27, 2018, in Santa Fe, NM at the lovely Inn on the Alameda https://www.innonthealameda.com/. If you serve as an Ombuds in one of these four states, are not already on our list of invitees, and are interested in attending, please contact Liz Hill at Elizabeth.hill@colorado.edu / 303-492-5079 or Jon Lee at jonlee@unm.edu / 505-277-2993 and we will be sure to include you! We plan to send an official invitation, agenda and retreat details, including hotel and conference registration information, in late August. We hope to see you there!

Organizational Ombuds

Organizational Ombuds serve as a confidential, independent, neutral and informal dispute resolution resource for a specific entity. They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals. The term "Ombuds" is shorthand for "Ombudsman," "Ombudsperson" and "Ombuds Officer," which also are used widely.
