Clemson University Hires Ombuds for Staff

The public university in South Carolina has selected Allison Monyei as its next Ombuds for Staff. She starts August 1 and succeeds Tom Ward , who retired earlier this year. Most recently, she was recently an Associate Ombudsman at the Food and Drug Administration Center for Tobacco Products. Monyei will serve about 4,000 university employees and joins University Ombudsman for Faculty and Students, R. Gordon Halfacre.

Monyei said that she was looking forward to the move to Clemson and the Ombuds role. “The idea of empowering people to achieve their own resolutions, whether it’s through mediation, conflict coaching, guided conversations, facilitation, or simply being a sounding board, is what endeared me to this role,” she said. Monyei graduated from the University of Florida and earned her JD from Mercer University School of Law.  (Clemson News; LinkedIn.)
