Earlier this year, the regional, multidisciplinary Ombuds group launched a mentoring program to match for developing Ombuds with experienced practitioners. The OOT website now provides details of how the program works. It is the organization's desire that the mentor and mentee both grow personally and professionally as a result of participating in the OOT Mentoring Program.
Mentors are expected to maintain consistent communication, provide a listening ear for his/her mentee to ask questions, seek guidance, and develop additional skills. In addition, confidentiality is a cornerstone of the program. (OOT Mentoring Program.)
