SJSU University Ombudsman Demerris Brooks was interviewed for her campus newspaper this week. Her office has served the California State University campus since the late 1960's. Brooks explains that, “If a student has an issue and they aren’t sure what their rights are or what the rules are, then I am the place they would come to discuss that.” Since the beginning of the 2009-10 school year, she has provided consultation for 44 faculty complaints, 46 issues with department policies, 40 enrollment disputes and 49 grade disputes.
