Internship: United Nations Funds and Programmes

The Office of the Ombudsman for United Nations Funds and Programmes is accepting applications for an unpaid internship in its New York headquarters. The position is full-time and will last four to six months. Duties will depend include supporting the office's mediation training, and outreach and advocacy.

Applicants must be an enrolled student (or within a year after graduation) and be computer literate in standard software applications. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of an official UN language is desirable. The posting period for the internship closes June 16, 2017. (UN Careers.)

They are accessible to a defined population and can advocate for fairness. These unique characteristics distinguish Organizational Ombuds from Classical Ombuds, mediators, arbitrators, and other alternative dispute resolution professionals.
