DeShaunta Johnson has been named the first Student Ombuds for Barnard. She joins Judit Revesz, who is the Ombuds for faculty and staff. It is a part-time appointment for Johnson, who also is a Staff Psychologist in Barnard's Counseling Center.
Johnson graduated from Sarah Lawrence College and earned her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the City University of New York. She completed fellowships at Yale and Columbia. Her professional and research interests include complex trauma, psychology of oppression, restorative justice and liberation psychology, and transgenerational transmission of trauma.
