Job Posting: Consumer Financial Protection Bureau

The federal agency responsible for consumer protection in the financial sector is hiring an Associate Ombudsman. While CFPB acts as a Classical Ombudsman service, the position has duties of an Organizational Ombuds, offering informal conflict resolution services while practicing independence, impartiality, and confidentiality. The full-time position is either remote or based in Washington, DC. Travel is not required. 

The position is open to Status Candidates and all U.S. Citizens. The position pays $94,637–197,615 per year and applications are due by April 17, 2023. (USA Jobs.)

For clarification, the CFPB Ombudsman’s Office provides an independent, impartial, and confidential resource to informally assist individuals, companies, consumer and trade groups, and others in resolving process issues with the CFPB. In short, we advocate for fair process in consumer financial protection. This Associate Ombudsman position is remote, meaning that the person can work anywhere in the contiguous 48 states. Also, note that some of the related posts reference the Student Loan Ombuds, but that is a different office.
